Rebecca Marie (Rodríguez) Roque

But we’re friends so you can call me Becky.
I am a 26-year-old Cuban / Venezuelan Miami native with a profound love for palm trees, the beach, the color pink, food, music and, of course, Cuban coffee (also known as cafecito – served dark with lots of sugar).
As a child, I use to lay sprawled across the floor drawing brochures for the “dance shows” I would choreograph, direct and execute alongside my cousins and sisters for the family. At the ripe age of 10, my life plan was as clear as day — a) I was never going to be a prima ballerina because I was too tall which meant that b) I needed to continue to create brochures and campaigns for the things that I loved (which at that time were singing, very badly, dancing and every obnoxious, dramatic, Florida kid’s obsession, Disney World).
Fast forward 15 years and I am doing exactly what I knew I’d be doing as a kid.
In 2017, I graduated from Florida International University (go panthers!) with two bachelor degrees — one in marketing and the other in advertising. This past year, I completed completed a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing from New York University.
Before moving to New York, I worked on the administrative team of a paper company, the sales and marketing ream at a boutique hotel in Miami Beach and a record label where I was fulfilling all of my childhood pop star Lizzie McGuire dreams (except I wasn’t on stage, I was just working with the people that were).
At the label, I began in the digital department where I got acquainted with all digital streaming platforms such as Apple Music, YouTube, Spotify, Tidal, etc. etc. etc. then moved on to run the social media department. In 3 short years, I learned quickly about how much I really do love music and of course, marketing (especially in the digital space).
While in New York, I ventured out to the platform side (digital streaming platform) and spent a few months meeting the coolest people and sharing the content. I found my way back to the label side working with some of the biggest artists in music like Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys and up and coming artists like Doja Cat.
Like Hannah Montana said, you’ll always find your way back home.
Now, I’m living in the 305, FINALLY married to my high school sweetheart and back to working in the Miami music scene.
When I am not adulting, I travel, upload very edited “on brand” pictures to my Instagram account, enjoy time with family and friends, research different font combinations and of course, fangirl at concerts.
I hope to one day live in Spain for a few months, open my own digital marketing agency in Miami, cage dive in the Great Barrier Reef, edit videos like a pro, paraglide over my favorite city in France, go to an elephant sanctuary in Thailand and have the pictures to prove it.
Enjoy!
