One of my favorite food garnishes are pickled onions – they’re vinegary, flavorful and the best color ever, pink. In the midst of this quarantine creativity, now was the time to make my favorite food topping. What I loved most about it is how easy and simple it is. The worst part? Having to wait for them to pickle but it is so worth it.
Ingredients
- 1/2 of a red onion
- 1 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Dash of salt
Instructions
Take ½ red onion and cut into thin, small strips. Once chopped, place into a jar with a lid and add apple cider vinegar, water, honey and salt. Stir so all ingredients are well mixed. Tightly seal and place in the fridge.
Wait 5 to 7 days for onions to pickle (should turn a bright, pink color) and enjoy!

Enjoy!
