Hello Fall

As the leaves change colors, the weather chills, the sweaters get thicker and the bonfires begin.

Well, that’s what I like to pretend.

Welcome to my favorite season, autumn.

Or if you’re in Miami, summer part two- where the boots sadly sit  in closets and sweaters beg for the day the weather is just below 80 degrees.

Despite the weather not aligning with the calendar, the start of fall comes with so much happiness. The breeze changes, spirits are lifted and the feeling of celebration is everywhere.

So put on your boots, grab a coffee, decorate some baby pumpkins and get excited–it’s time to ring in the festivities!

Here’s what I am celebrating this fall.

I’m celebrating a new month. Beginning a new month  always feels like a fresh start. Maybe it’s because I get to flip my calendar to a new, amazing page. October is probably the most exciting because the holiday decorations OFFICIALLY come out. Once the pumpkins and wreaths are out, you KNOW it’s time to party.

I’m celebrating a new year. My birthday is later this month, yay! I may have the Peter Pan syndrome but celebrating my birthday is still my favorite. Even though I really, truly don’t want to contine doing this whole “adult thing” I feel thankful to have another healthy and successful year of life. Cheers to 21!

I’m celebrating Starbucks (or any coffee for that matter). Confession: PSL are not my favorite thing in the BUT getting to have a hot cup of coffee in their new fall cup is a dream come true. If you see me at school (or basically anywhere in public), you’ll most likely see me with one of these in hand.

I’m celebrating fun. Whether you’re into the spooky, hocus-pocus stuff or not, Halloween is always such a great way to have a good time.

I’m celebrating fall fashion. Dark colors are now “acceptable” all day,  everyday. Black on black with dark nails will be my staple. I’m just going with the season, Mom. Sweaters and boots are also a noral thing.  I don’t care how you’re feeling, Miami, but if it’s late-October and you’re still 87 degrees, I WILL be wearing my boots.

I’m celebrating the half-way mark. We’re almost 8 weeks into the semester, phew. We can do this.

I’m celebrating new music. “Made in the A.M.” and Justin Bieber’s album new is out November 13th …. May the best music win.

I’m celebrating my loved ones. If there’s one day of the entire year I look forward to the most, it’s Thanksgiving. Having everyone together in one place reminds me of how blessed I am to have such a loving and supportive group of individuals by my side.

The day after Thanksgiving, we celebrate “Thanksmas”. It’s one of the few days of the entire year when my mom’s side of the family is all togther. We take all the leftovers and have it for brunch. It’s also the day we take our Christmas picture. Our theme two years ago was “Tacky Christmas Sweater.” Lela and Lelo were NOT impressed.

Though the times may be hectic, I’m grateful for the chance to celebrate this beautiful season and be excited with new opportunities.

How are you celebrating?
